German Restaurant App Raises $5M

Neotaste, a German restaurant app that connects diners and restaurants, has raised €5.9 million in Series A funding.

The round was led by Burda Principal Investments, with participation from existing investors Userlane founder Kajetan Uhlig and Flaschenpost co-founders and current CEOs Niklas Plath and Christopher Huesmann.

Founded by Hendrik Sander and Tobias Düser, Neotaste is a B2C platform that allows restaurants to offer exclusive deals and users to discover new locations. The app integrates customer-restaurant interactions, giving consumers access to exclusive dining deals and restaurants a platform to enhance customer engagement. More than 300,000 users already have access to deals via the subscription app, which are currently offered exclusively by more than 1,300 restaurants in thirteen German cities.

With the new funding, Neotaste plans to expand to other German cities and internationally and to add additional products and services to the platform.
