Kombai, a frontend devtools startup, raised $4.5m in seed funding.
The round was led by Stellaris Venture Partners and Foundation Capital with participation from several angels. The company plans to use the funds to expand its team and research and development efforts.
Kombai's developer tool automates mundane tasks for frontend devs, such as writing and maintaining CSS and JS code. The company is currently in private beta with a few hundred early devs. Its current version can generate production-quality React, HTML, and CSS code from Figma.
Kombai's deep learning models are able to generate usable frontend code with accurate flex, div-structure, repeated elements, form components, and framework-specific syntax.
