ShapesXR,a San Mateo VR design and collaboration start-up, raised $8.6m in seed funding to expand its platform to new devices and grow its business reach.
The company's platform enables remote product teams to brainstorm, prototype, and co-edit XR content and experiences in the metaverse. Users can create immersive storyboards to show their designs in function and easily invite team members to collaborate.
The funding round was led by Supernode Global, with participation from Triptyq Capital, Hartmann Capital, Geek Ventures, Boost VC, LETA Capital, WXR Fund, and STRATMINDS. Early investors included HTC VIVE, The Venture Reality Fund / The VR Fund, Arian Ghashghai, Ludus Ventures, and Remote First Capital.
ShapesXR plans to use the funds to expand its platform to new devices, such as Apple's Vision Pro and the Magic Leap 2. The company also plans to grow its business reach by hiring more employees and expanding into new markets.
